This is a very nice original ornament for your 40 Chevy. You are purchasing a factory original hood ornament correct for all the 1940 Chevrolet passenger cars including Master, Master Deluxe and Special. There are a few random micro pits, however it does look VERY good in appearance cosmetically. This is GM part number 3654004 in the Chevrolet master catalog.

The female attaching threads are both good with no issues. It will display very well on a quality driver but would need to be replanted for show. The casting has no cracks, bends, dents, nicks or scratches to be found. The ornament is in excellent condition throughout.
